Gabriel specializes in debt transactions, both bank loans and debt securities, working with domestic and cross-border bonds and loans, financing agreements and security instruments, including contracts and instruments related to syndicated loans, credit facilities, issuance of notes, bonds and debentures, commercial notes and credit transactions in general. With experience in corporate, acquisition and project finance deals, his practice focuses on structured financing transactions with complex collateral packages.
Gabriel has experience in financing deals in the infrastructure and energy sectors, including oil and gas, electric energy, mining, logistics, and real estate. He advises national and international clients on both the borrower and lender sides of transactions and has worked with many banks and financial institutions over the years, including development banks. In recent years, his practice has expanded into debt restructuring deals involving distressed borrowers (including debtor-in-possession financings), and climate and ESG credit facilities and bonds.
He also provides advice on the banking, corporate, contract and regulatory aspects of financial transactions, regulatory aspects of the Brazilian securities market (CVM), and the financial system (Central Bank), and has worked on the banking and financing aspects of mergers and acquisitions operations (including of financial institutions).
Gabriel is a professor in the undergraduate law program at Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV Direito Rio, currently teaching the course on Financial Contracts.
