Among the many consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic is the potential postponement of the entry into force of Brazil's General Law on the Protection of Data.
The LGPD (Law 13.709/18, Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados) was to come into force in the second half of this year, but that may change. There are currently a number of legislative initiatives which propose to postpone the entry into force of the LGPD once again.
