Meet BMA’s new partners

​We are pleased to announce the election of BMA's newest partners: Ana Paula Reis (Corporate and M&A), Ellen Juste Nuñez (Corporate and M&A | Due Diligence), Gustavo Maia do Nascimento (Real Estate Transactions), Iara Santos Conrado Costa Ferreira (Dispute Resolution) and Renan Frediani Torres Peres (Dispute Resolutions).  

Ana Paula Reis has extensive experience in corporate law, corporate governance, public offerings, M&A transactions involving listed companies, and ESG requirements, where her work is focused on governance. She advises in innovative transactions, corporate reorganizations and public offerings, in various economic sectors. Ana Paula is recommended in corporate law by major legal guides, such as Chambers Brazil: Transactional, The Legal 500, IFLR1000, and Análise Advocacia Mulher.  Her experience was acquired in both the private and public sectors. She acted as legal adviser to the National Financial System Appeals Council – CRSFN form 2004 to 2009, where she took an active part in strategic discussions involving administrative offences. 

Ellen Juste Nuñez is a member of the Corporate and M&A area and coordinates BMA's Due Diligence practice. She has broad experience in the health sector, having acted in acquisitions of hospitals, diagnostic imaging service providers, pharmaceutical companies and health plan operators, and in debt and equity offerings. As due diligence coordinator, she has assisted a wide variety of clients in corporate restructurings and purchases and sales of assets in sectors such as shopping centers, energy, infrastructure, retail, and new technologies. Ellen also conducts yearly training sessions for lawyers who join the firm, as part of BMA Education, and helps develop new work methods for conducting due diligence investigations and training.    

In Real Estate Transactions, Gustavo Maia has extensive experience in providing support to national and international clients in sophisticated transactions, covering civil, corporate and tax law aspects. He acts in acquisitions of land; structuring, construction and development of large-scale real estate projects; leases; negotiation of association agreements between players in the real estate market and shareholders' agreements focused on real estate developments; financing of real estate transactions; and securitization of real estate receivables, in addition to providing legal opinions on real estate matters. Gustavo is Secretary-General (Real Estate) of the Brazilian Mediation and Arbitration Center – CBMA.  

In BMA's Dispute Resolution practice, Iara Santos Conrado Costa Ferreira and Renan Frediani Torres Peres act for Brazilian and international clients in complex litigation, especially related to business disputes. 

Iara has broad experience in commercial arbitrations and in lawsuits, including international collective litigation, involving contractual, corporate, real estate and environmental disputes. She also has experience in disputes involving wills and successions. 

Renan Frediani has extensive experience in lawsuits, national and international commercial arbitrations, and mediations before international institutions and all the main Brazilian arbitration chambers in matters involving contracts, corporate law, real estate, and infrastructure. Renan lectures at the Mauá Institute of Technology, and is a member of the board of the University of São Paulo's Dispute Resolution Center. 

As members of our Interns Committee, Iara and Renan also dedicate their time to BMA's future, helping to develop our Interns Program and train future practitioners.
