BMA partner Felipe Palhares, who heads our Data Protection, Technology and Digital Businesses practice area, has been recognized by Global Data Review (GDR), one of the most important data law publications in the world, as one of its “40 under 40” for 2021.

GDR’s “40 under 40” lists the best of the upcoming generation of data lawyers from around the world. The list is complied from feedback from the market and interviews with nominees.

With a specialization in Business Law from FGV – Fundação Getúlio Vargas and LL.M.s in Corporate Law from Insper and New York University, Felipe Palhares is the only Brazilian national to have earned all the data privacy certifications issued by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), and to be recognized as a Privacy Law Specialist by the IAPP.

I don’t know how to express my gratitude for this unique recognition. Many thanks to all the clients who had confidence in my work, to my partners and to my team at BMA, who inspired me to new professional achievements, and to my peers and colleagues in the area, for whom I have great admiration and respect,” said Palhares about his recognition by GDR.
