ANP reviews individual distributor targets
It was published last Friday, September 25, the ANP Ordinance No. 797/2020 (“Ordinance No. 797”), which rectifies the ANP Ordinance No. 263, of March 19, 2020, and reviews the mandatory individual emission reduction targets of greenhouse gases for fuel distributors, within the scope of RenovaBio program.
The establishment of new targets was necessary due to the recent publication of Resolution CNPE nº 8/2020, which reduced the global mandatory annual target for 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic (New decarbonization target resolution), causing the ANP to also recalculate individual distributor targets.
According to Ordinance No. 797, the individual targets will remain in effect until December 31, 2020.
