Green Hydrogen Commission begins work in the Senate
The Special Commission for Debate on Green Hydrogen Public Policy held its first meeting in April.
The Commission’s purpose is to discuss public policies on green hydrogen over a period of two years, to promote growth of this clean energy technology and assess public policies that will foster green hydrogen technology. One of the Commission’s main objectives is to establish a legal framework for green hydrogen in order to attract potential investors.
Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies approves urgent processing for a proposed Legislative Decree that will suspend regulations on distributed mini- and microgeneration
Proposed Legislative Decree no. 65 of 2023 (PDL 65/2023) has been approved for urgent processing, which allows the bill to go directly to voting by the Chamber of Deputies.
PDL 65/2023 would suspend parts of Resolution 1000/2021, under which ANEEL, Brazil’s electrical power regulator, established rules for the provision of public power distribution services. The PDL targets provisions on the connection and billing of distributed mini- and microgeneration plants.
