Professional experience

Lígia represents large national and international companies as well as individuals before Brazilian tax authorities, administrative tax appeal boards, and the courts.

Together with a 10-member team, Ligia takes a strategic, personalized approach to conducting tax audit proceedings, contestation of tax assessments, recovery of tax claims, containment of tax collections and demands for onerous security in tax proceedings, and limitation of the personal liability of owners and management for corporate tax.

Because of her experience, she is also called on to provide legal opinions and memorandums in important and strategic tax cases.

She is the chair of BMAInspiration, the firm's pro bono and volunteer service program.
