BMA’s Tax practice is composed of more than 40 specialists in advisory work and litigation, providing support to businesses of all sizes, including many listed companies, and to individuals.
When advising on major M&A transactions and corporate restructurings, and when representing clients before the courts and tax authorities, we focus our knowledge and experience on finding individualized, innovative solutions for tax-related problems in di_erent businesses and sectors of the economy.
Advisory. With our deep understanding of tax legislation, regulations, and case law at the federal, state and municipal levels, we advise clients on issues related to direct and indirect taxes, social security contributions, and international taxation.
Strategic Transactions. Our many years of advising national and international companies operating in various sectors of the economy enables us to evaluate and create effective strategies for new types of business.
Debt Restructuring. We have led the largest debt restructuring cases in Brazil, carrying out detailed analyses of the tax e_ects of renegotiating liabilities, with a focus on preserving the business and mitigating risks.
Corporate Transactions. BMA is a reference in the market for its expertise in the treatment of tax issues in M&A transactions and corporate restructurings in general, and in the tax aspects of investments, including investments in the debt and equity markets.
Litigation. We efficiently conduct proceedings before administrative authorities and in the courts, bringing important tax issues before Brazil’s highest courts. Adopting a personalized approach, our team acts in tax audits, challenges to tax assessments, recovery of tax claims, containment of undue demands for payment, and limitation of the liability of individuals (business owners and members of management).
