Our Insurance practice brings together the depth and breadth of our team’s experience in corporate transactions – where BMA is a market leader – and the understanding gained from working closely with clients from the insurance sector over the years. Drawing on the experience gained from advising some of some of the biggest players in the sector and from our role in high-value, complex transactions, our multidisciplinary team assists in meeting the challenges of the insurance market, in the property, life and health segments.

Transactions and Contracts. Broad experience in a wide range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and transactions involving insurance contract portfolios in various segments; complete legal support in operational and commercial agreements between insurers and their partner entities (including affinity schemes and bancassurance); advice to businesses in different sectors on contracting insurance and managing policies and claims.

Regulatory. Specialized assistance in regulatory matters affecting insurers, reinsurers, health plan operators, benefits administrators and insurance brokers, including interactions with regulatory authorities and administrative proceedings, both in connection with corporate transactions and in advisory work such as legal memorandums and opinions and support in compliance with sector regulations.

Tax. Extensive experience in taxation in the insurance sector, with expertise in tax disputes and a successful track record in strategic tax litigation in the sector, both before the courts and at the administrative level.

Large claims and crisis management. Support for businesses in various sectors in large insurance claims and managing crisis situations following accidents. 

Litigation. Complete support in lawsuits, arbitrations and mediation procedures; assistance in conflict prevention and in complex negotiations involving large claims.
