With extensive experience before CADE, Brazil’s competition regulator, our team has the know-how needed to handle complex cases in a scenario of growing rigor and sophistication among competition authorities.

Our firm has a team of highly qualified specialists in Competition Law dedicated to advising national and international clients, from all sectors of the economy, in merger reviews and anti-competitive conduct investigations before CADE, Brazil’s competition authority. We have taken part in the most significant mergers and acquisitions in the last few years, many of them multijurisdictional transactions. We assist clients in the strategic analysis of the competition aspects of their businesses, effciently anticipating and allocating risks when structuring contracts and commercial policies. Drawing on our unparalleled experience in cartels and other anticompetitive conduct, we also represent companies under investigation, defending cases and negotiating settlements with CADE, and help businesses design competition compliance programs.

Mergers and Acquisitions. We act for companies in merger review proceedings, including risk assessments and advice in contract negotiations, with a view to minimizing competition risks.

Cartels. We provide legal support to companies involved in cartel investigations.We assist companies in internal investigations of potentially illegal conduct and assess the risks involved in negotiating leniency agreements and settlements, with a view to minimizing their exposure. We also act for companies in private litigation for damages.

Unilateral Conduct. We help clients in risk assessments and defenses related to investigations into unilateral anti-competitive practices. We also assist companies in negotiating settlements, minimizing their exposure, and in private litigation.

Antitrust Compliance. We design compliance programs to prevent anti-competitive conduct, and provide guidance on best competition practices for companies and trade associations, including internal investigations to identify areas of risk. 

Our team has represented clients in a large number of the most significant merger review cases in Brazil and abroad, and in complex cartel investigations, focused on the mediation and prevention of anticompetitive conduct.
