Government Relations
Located minutes away from the heart of Brazil’s capital, our team specializes in formulating the best strategies for interaction between clients and the main actors in the nation’s political and economic agenda
Constant changes in the Brazilian political scenario, along with new forms of production and consumption, have direct effects on companies and their businesses, and require agile, efficient and multidisciplinary dialogue with the various levels of government. Brazil's mature democratic institutions have made Brasília a center of intense negotiations, with agents that are increasingly aware that good laws and public policies go hand in hand with the best governance and compliance practices.
With its experienced, ethical professionals, BMA stands out for its ability to combine legal knowledge and business expertise with a new way of relating to the legislative and executive branches of government – a way that is both intelligent and connected to the new political reality in Brazil.
Our team helps our clients to manage risks in a wide variety of sectors, through transparent, agile and competitive services in three main areas:
Strategy. We provide support and context to clients on issues of interest in the public arena. We monitor legislative debates and track developments within regulatory agencies and other administrative bodies. We also map the players involved in matters of concern to our clients, and formulate positioning strategies.
Content production. After positioning our clients in the arenas where decisions are made, we produce content to support clients’ participation in public hearings and to feed the legislative process, through position papers, talking points, technical reports, and other resources addressed to members of Congress and other stakeholders.
Engagement. By anticipating potential scenarios, we seek to identify ideal opportunities for clients. Through agile, smart, and ethical work on the front lines of the decision-making process, our team interacts directly with members of Congress and other players. We monitor bills and new legislation, and act as counsel to parties and amici curiae in constitutional challenges.
